Tamisol MR 400 mcg is indicated for the treatment of the signs and symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
Pharmacology:
Tamsulosin is a selective alpha-1A adrenergic receptor blocker that relaxes the muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, improving urine flow and reducing BPH symptoms.
Dosage & Administration:

Recommended dosage: One capsule daily, taken after the same meal each day.

Swallow whole; do not crush or chew.
Interaction:

May interact with strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g., ketoconazole) and alpha-blockers.

Potential for additive hypotensive effects when combined with antihypertensive medications.
Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to tamsulosin or any component of the capsule.

Severe hepatic impairment.
Side Effects:

Common: Dizziness, headache, nasal congestion.

Rare: Priapism, retinal detachment, or hypersensitivity reactions.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Not indicated for use in women. Tamsulosin is intended for male patients only.
