Indications:
ELVINA 250MG is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections such as acute bacterial sinusitis, chronic bronchitis, pneumonia, skin and soft tissue infections, and urinary tract infections caused by susceptible microorganisms.
Pharmacology:
ELVINA (Levofloxacin) is a synthetic broad-spectrum antibacterial agent from the fluoroquinolone class. It inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes necessary for bacterial DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination.
Dosage & Administration:
Adults: Usually 250 mg to 750 mg once daily depending on the type and severity of infection. Duration and dosage should be determined by a physician.
Take with or without food. Avoid taking with dairy products or antacids containing magnesium or aluminum.
Interaction:
Levofloxacin may interact with antacids, iron supplements, warfarin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), and certain antidiabetic medications.
Avoid taking within 2 hours of such products.
Contraindications:
Contraindicated in patients with a known hypersensitivity to levofloxacin, other quinolone antibiotics, or any of the components of the product.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include nausea, diarrhea, headache, insomnia, dizziness. Rarely, it may cause tendon rupture, peripheral neuropathy, or severe allergic reactions.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Levofloxacin should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed. It is not recommended during breastfeeding due to potential risk to the infant.
Precautions & Warnings:
Use with caution in patients with CNS disorders, kidney impairment, or a history of tendon disorders. Avoid excessive sunlight or UV light exposure during treatment.

Store in a cool and dry place below 30°C. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
