TEANA AM 40 MG + 5 MG is indicated for the treatment of hypertension and for reducing the risk of cardiovascular events in high-risk patients.
Pharmacology:
Telmisartan: An angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that relaxes blood vessels, lowering blood pressure.
Amlodipine: A calcium channel blocker that relaxes heart and blood vessel muscles, improving blood flow and reducing blood pressure.
Dosage & Administration:
Standard dosage: One tablet daily, taken at the same time each day.
Swallow the tablet whole with water, with or without food.
Interaction:
Avoid combination with potassium-sparing diuretics, lithium, and NSAIDs.
Increased risk of hypotension when combined with other antihypertensive agents.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Telmisartan, Amlodipine, or any tablet component.
Severe liver impairment or biliary obstruction.
Side Effects:
Common: Dizziness, headache, fatigue, and peripheral edema.
Rare: Hypotension, hyperkalemia, or angioedema.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Contraindicated during pregnancy.
Should be avoided during lactation unless necessary.
Precautions & Warnings:
Monitor potassium levels and renal function regularly.
Use caution in patients with severe aortic stenosis or heart failure.
