Pharmacology:
ISENTIN M contains two active ingredients:
Isradipine: A calcium channel blocker that relaxes blood vessels, reducing blood pressure and cardiac workload.
Metformin: An oral antihyperglycemic agent that decreases hepatic glucose production and improves insulin sensitivity, lowering blood sugar levels.
Dosage & Administration:
Dosage individualized by physician based on patient response
Typically one tablet daily with meals to reduce gastrointestinal side effects
Swallow whole with water, do not crush or chew
Interaction:
May enhance effects of other antihypertensives
Metformin may interact with contrast agents or other drugs affecting kidney function
Avoid alcohol to reduce risk of lactic acidosis
Monitor blood glucose and kidney function regularly
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Isradipine, Metformin, or excipients
Severe renal or hepatic impairment
Metabolic acidosis or diabetic ketoacidosis
Pregnancy and lactation unless clearly necessary
Side Effects:
Common: Dizziness, headache, flushing, gastrointestinal upset (nausea, diarrhea)
Less common: Edema, fatigue, hypoglycemia (rare)
Rare: Lactic acidosis, allergic reactions

Pregnancy: Use only if benefits outweigh risks; consult doctor
Lactation: Metformin is excreted in breast milk; consult healthcare provider
Precautions & Warnings:
