Indications:
CANDINIL 35ML Suspension is indicated for:

Oral thrush (oropharyngeal candidiasis).

Esophageal candidiasis.
-
Fungal infections in children or adults unable to swallow capsules.
-
Prophylaxis of fungal infections in immunocompromised patients.
Pharmacology:
CANDINIL contains Fluconazole, a triazole antifungal agent. It inhibits fungal cytochrome P450-dependent enzymes responsible for ergosterol synthesis, compromising the fungal cell membrane's integrity and leading to cell death.
Dosage and Administration:

Dosage:

Adults: 200 mg on the first day, followed by 100 mg once daily (adjusted based on infection).

Children: 6-12 mg/kg/day, depending on infection severity.

Administration:

Shake the bottle well before use.
-
Measure the dose using the provided measuring cup or spoon.

Can be taken with or without food.
-
Interaction:

Avoid use with drugs like terfenadine or cisapride due to QT prolongation risk.

May interact with anticoagulants, increasing bleeding risk.

Use cautiously with other drugs metabolized by cytochrome P450 enzymes.
Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to Fluconazole or any components of the suspension.

Concurrent use with medications that prolong the QT interval.
Side Effects:

Common: Nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort, rash.

Rare: Hepatotoxicity, severe skin reactions, or QT prolongation.
Pregnancy & Lactation:

Pregnancy: Not recommended, particularly during the first trimester.

Lactation: Use with caution; Fluconazole is excreted in breast milk.

Monitor liver and kidney function during prolonged treatment.

Avoid overdosing in pediatric patients.

Use cautiously in patients with known cardiac arrhythmias or electrolyte imbalances.
