Rasagil 0.5mg Tablet is indicated for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease. It is used as monotherapy or as an adjunct to other medications to improve motor function and reduce symptoms such as tremors and rigidity.
Rasagiline, the active ingredient in Rasagil, is a selective monoamine oxidase-B (MAO-B) inhibitor. It increases the levels of dopamine in the brain by inhibiting its breakdown, which helps to alleviate symptoms of Parkinson's disease.
Adults: 0.5 mg once daily, can be increased to 1 mg based on the patient's response.
Administered orally, with or without food.
Avoid use with other MAO inhibitors, certain antidepressants, and opioid medications.
Interaction with tyramine-rich foods may cause high blood pressure.
Hypersensitivity to Rasagiline or any of its components.
Concurrent use with other MAO inhibitors or certain antidepressants.
Common: Headache, dizziness, nausea, joint pain.
Serious: Hypertension, serotonin syndrome when used with certain drugs.
Use only if the potential benefits justify the risks. Consult a physician for detailed guidance.
Regular monitoring of blood pressure is advised.
Use caution in patients with hepatic impairment.
