Indications:
ROZITH 15 ML Suspension is indicated for:
Respiratory tract infections such as pharyngitis, tonsillitis, and sinusitis.
Skin and soft tissue infections.
Otitis media (middle ear infections).
Certain gastrointestinal infections caused by susceptible bacteria.
Pharmacology:
Azithromycin is a macrolide antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit. This results in the inhibition of bacterial growth, making it effective against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
Dosage and Administration:
Children (based on body weight):
10 mg/kg once daily for the first day, followed by 5 mg/kg once daily for the next 4 days.
Shake well before use.
Administer with or without food, but preferably at the same time each day.
Interaction:
Azithromycin absorption may be reduced if taken with antacids containing aluminum or magnesium.
May interact with drugs like warfarin, increasing the risk of bleeding.
Avoid simultaneous use with ergot derivatives due to potential ergot toxicity.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to azithromycin, erythromycin, or any macrolide antibiotics.
Severe hepatic impairment.
Side Effects:
Common: Nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and vomiting.
Rare but serious: Allergic reactions, QT prolongation, and hepatotoxicity.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Pregnancy: Use only if clearly needed under the supervision of a physician.
Lactation: Excreted in breast milk; caution is advised.
Precautions & Warnings:
Use with caution in patients with hepatic dysfunction or a history of arrhythmia.
Monitor for signs of allergic reactions or superinfections during therapy.

Storage Conditions:
Store below 30°C. After reconstitution, keep the suspension in a refrigerator and use within 5 days. Keep out of reach of children.
