Indications:
CLACIDO 375MG Tablet is indicated for:
-
Upper and lower respiratory tract infections (e.g., sinusitis, bronchitis, pneumonia).

Skin and soft tissue infections caused by susceptible bacteria.
-
Eradication of Helicobacter pylori in combination with other medications for peptic ulcer treatment.
-
Mycobacterial infections, including Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC).
Pharmacology:
CLACIDO contains Clarithromycin, a macrolide antibiotic that binds to the 50S ribosomal subunit of bacteria, inhibiting protein synthesis. This action prevents bacterial growth, making it effective against a wide range of infections.

Adults and Adolescents (12 years and older): 375 mg twice daily for 7-14 days depending on infection severity.

Helicobacter pylori Eradication: 375 mg twice daily in combination with a proton pump inhibitor and another antibiotic.

Administration:

Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

Can be taken with or without food.

Interaction:

Concomitant use with medications metabolized by CYP3A4 (e.g., statins, antiarrhythmics) may increase the risk of adverse effects.

May potentiate the effects of warfarin and oral hypoglycemic agents.

Avoid combining with ergot derivatives due to the risk of ergotism.
Contraindications:

Known hypersensitivity to Clarithromycin or other macrolides.

History of QT prolongation or ventricular arrhythmias.

Severe hepatic or renal dysfunction.
Side Effects:

Common: Nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, headache, altered taste.
