Indications:
POGO 100ML is indicated for:
-
Fever in children
-
Mild to moderate pain including teething pain, headache, earache, sore throat, and post-vaccination reactions
Pharmacology:
Paracetamol (acetaminophen) is an analgesic and antipyretic. It acts by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system and blocks pain impulse generation. It also acts on the hypothalamic heat-regulating center to reduce fever. It does not possess anti-inflammatory properties.
Dosage & Administration:

Children (based on weight and age): 10–15 mg/kg per dose every 4 to 6 hours

Maximum: Not more than 4 doses in 24 hours

Shake well before use

Use appropriate measuring spoon or cup

Dose to be determined by physician based on child’s weight and age
Interaction:

May interact with warfarin (in long-term high doses)

Alcohol increases risk of liver toxicity
-
Use with caution with other medications containing paracetamol
Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to paracetamol

Severe hepatic impairment
Side Effects:

Rare: Allergic reactions (skin rash, itching)

Very rare: Liver damage in overdose

Generally well tolerated in recommended doses

Not applicable for children’s formulation
