ZOVENTA PFS 60ML (90MG/5ML) SUSPENSION is indicated for treating bacterial infections in children, including:

Upper and lower respiratory tract infections (e.g., tonsillitis, pharyngitis, bronchitis).
Ear, nose, and throat (ENT) infections (e.g., otitis media, sinusitis).
Skin and soft tissue infections.
Urinary tract infections (UTIs).
Typhoid fever and other susceptible bacterial infections.

Pharmacology:
Cefpodoxime is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, resulting in bacterial cell death. It is effective against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.

Dosage & Administration:

Children: Administer 5 mg/kg body weight every 12 hours, or as directed by a physician.
Shake the bottle well before each use.
Administer with food to enhance absorption.
Complete the full course of treatment to avoid resistance.

Interaction:

Avoid concurrent use with antacids or H2 blockers, as they can reduce the absorption of Cefpodoxime.
Use cautiously with nephrotoxic drugs like aminoglycosides to prevent kidney damage.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to Cefpodoxime, cephalosporins, or any formulation component.
Severe allergic reactions to beta-lactam antibiotics, including penicillin.

Side Effects:

Common: Diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, or rash.
Rare: Hypersensitivity reactions, including itching or swelling.
Prolonged use may lead to fungal infections.

Pregnancy & Lactation:

This formulation is intended for pediatric use; not applicable for pregnancy and lactation.
For lactating mothers administering to infants, consult a healthcare provider.

Precautions & Warnings:

Use with caution in children with renal impairment.
Discontinue use if severe allergic reactions or pseudomembranous colitis symptoms occur.
Long-term use may lead to the overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms.
