Indications:
CLACIDO 625MG Tablet is indicated for:
Treatment of upper and lower respiratory tract infections (e.g., sinusitis, bronchitis, pneumonia).
Skin and soft tissue infections caused by susceptible organisms.
Eradication of Helicobacter pylori in combination therapy for peptic ulcer disease.
Mycobacterial infections, such as Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC).
Pharmacology:
CLACIDO contains Clarithromycin, a macrolide antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit. This action halts bacterial growth, offering effective treatment for a broad range of bacterial infections.
Dosage and Administration:
Dosage:
Adults and Adolescents (12 years and older): 625 mg twice daily, depending on the infection's severity and type.
Helicobacter pylori Therapy: 625 mg twice daily in combination with a proton pump inhibitor and amoxicillin or metronidazole.
Administration:
Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
Can be taken with or without food.
Interaction:
May interact with medications like statins, antiarrhythmics, and anticoagulants, necessitating caution and monitoring.
Concomitant use with ergot derivatives is contraindicated due to the risk of ergotism.
Avoid combining with drugs that prolong the QT interval.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Clarithromycin or other macrolides.
History of QT prolongation or ventricular arrhythmias.
Severe hepatic or renal impairment without dosage adjustment.
Side Effects:
Common: Nausea, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort, headache, and taste alterations.
Rare: Hepatotoxicity, severe skin reactions, arrhythmias, or hypersensitivity reactions.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Pregnancy: Should be used only if the potential benefits outweigh the risks, especially during the first trimester.
Lactation: Exercise caution as the drug is excreted in breast milk.

Monitor liver and kidney functions during extended use.
Avoid use in patients with pre-existing cardiac conditions or electrolyte imbalances.
Discontinue use immediately if severe allergic or adverse reactions occur.
