Indications:
COMBICARD 5/50 is indicated for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure) and chronic stable angina pectoris.
Pharmacology:
Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that relaxes blood vessels and improves blood flow. Atenolol is a beta-blocker that reduces heart rate and cardiac workload. Their combination effectively lowers blood pressure and reduces angina symptoms.
Dosage:
Typically, one tablet once daily or as prescribed by the physician. Dosage may vary depending on patient condition.
Administration:
Take orally with or without food at the same time each day for consistent effect.
Interaction:
May interact with other antihypertensive drugs, digoxin, NSAIDs, and drugs affecting heart rhythm. Use caution with other beta-blockers or calcium channel blockers.
Contraindications:
Contraindicated in patients with severe bradycardia, heart block greater than first degree, cardiogenic shock, or hypersensitivity to any component.
Side Effects:
May cause dizziness, fatigue, headache, edema, slow heart rate, or gastrointestinal disturbances.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use only if clearly needed. Consult a doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Precautions & Warnings:
Monitor blood pressure and heart rate regularly. Use cautiously in patients with asthma, diabetes, or heart failure.
