Indications:
FUROTIL PLUS 250/62.5 is indicated for:

Respiratory tract infections (e.g., bronchitis, sinusitis, pneumonia)

Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
-
Skin and soft tissue infections
-
Infections caused by beta-lactamase-producing bacteria
-
Tonsillitis and pharyngitis
Pharmacology:
FUROTIL PLUS contains:
-
Cefuroxime Axetil: A second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis.

Clavulanic Acid: A beta-lactamase inhibitor that prevents bacterial resistance by inhibiting enzymes that destroy antibiotics.
The combination extends the antibiotic spectrum and enhances efficacy against resistant bacteria.
Dosage & Administration:

Adults: One tablet (250/62.5 mg) twice daily or as directed by a physician

Should be taken with or after food for better absorption
-
Complete full course even if symptoms improve
Interaction:

May interact with probenecid (increases cefuroxime levels)
-
May reduce the effectiveness of oral contraceptives
-
Antacids may interfere with absorption if taken simultaneously
Contraindications:

Known hypersensitivity to cephalosporins, penicillins, or beta-lactam antibiotics

Caution in patients with history of hepatic dysfunction
Side Effects:

Common: Diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort

Less common: Rash, candidiasis, headache

Rare: Severe allergic reactions, jaundice
