Stener 300 mg is indicated for:
Treatment of partial seizures with or without secondary generalization.
Management of neuropathic pain caused by conditions such as diabetic neuropathy, postherpetic neuralgia, and other chronic nerve pain disorders.
Gabapentin, the active ingredient, modulates voltage-gated calcium channels in the central nervous system. This reduces synaptic transmission and neuronal excitability, providing relief from seizures and neuropathic pain.
Dosage: Initiate with 300 mg once daily; adjust based on patient response and clinical needs.
Administration: Administer orally with or without food. For optimal effect, doses should be spaced evenly.
Reduced absorption when taken with antacids containing aluminum or magnesium. Maintain a 2-hour gap.
May enhance the effects of CNS depressants like alcohol and sedatives.
Hypersensitivity to Gabapentin or any of its components.
Common: Drowsiness, dizziness, fatigue, and dry mouth.
Serious (Rare): Respiratory depression, severe rash, or swelling of the face, lips, or throat.
Use only if potential benefits outweigh risks to the fetus.
Gabapentin is excreted in breast milk; consult a healthcare provider before use during lactation.
Do not abruptly discontinue to avoid withdrawal seizures.
