Indications:
FUROTIL PLUS PFS 70ML is indicated for treating:

Upper and lower respiratory tract infections (e.g., tonsillitis, pharyngitis, bronchitis)

Otitis media (ear infections)
-
Urinary tract infections (UTIs)

Skin and soft tissue infections
-
Bacterial infections caused by beta-lactamase producing organisms
Pharmacology:
FUROTIL PLUS PFS contains:
-
Cefuroxime Axetil: A second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis.

Clavulanic Acid: A beta-lactamase inhibitor that expands cefuroxime’s spectrum by preventing degradation from bacterial enzymes.
This combination makes it highly effective against resistant bacteria in pediatric patients.
Dosage & Administration:

Dosage is based on the child’s body weight and infection type

Usual dose: 20–30 mg/kg/day (cefuroxime equivalent), divided into two doses

Shake well before each use
-
Administer after meals to enhance absorption

Use the provided measuring cup/spoon for accurate dosing
-
Complete the full course as directed by a physician
Interaction:

May interact with probenecid (increases cefuroxime level)

Antacids and iron supplements may reduce absorption

May affect the results of some urine glucose tests
Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to cephalosporins, penicillins, or beta-lactam antibiotics

Use with caution in hepatic impairment
Side Effects:

Common: Diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain

Storage Conditions:
