Indications:
ROZITH 22.5 ML Suspension is indicated for:
Upper and lower respiratory tract infections, such as tonsillitis, pharyngitis, and bronchitis.
Skin and soft tissue infections.
Otitis media (middle ear infections).
Some gastrointestinal infections caused by susceptible bacteria.
Pharmacology:
Azithromycin, the active ingredient in ROZITH Suspension, is a macrolide antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis. By binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit of bacteria, it halts their growth and replication. This makes it effective against a range of bacterial infections.
Dosage and Administration:
Children (based on body weight):
Day 1: 10 mg/kg body weight as a single dose.
Days 2 to 5: 5 mg/kg body weight once daily.
Shake well before each use.
Administer with or without food.
Interaction:
Antacids containing magnesium or aluminum may reduce the absorption of azithromycin.
May enhance the effects of anticoagulants like warfarin.
Concomitant use with ergot derivatives should be avoided due to the risk of ergot toxicity.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to azithromycin, erythromycin, or any other macrolide antibiotic.
Severe liver dysfunction.
Side Effects:
Common: Diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, and vomiting.
Rare but serious: Allergic reactions, QT interval prolongation, and liver dysfunction.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Pregnancy: Should be used only if prescribed by a doctor.
Lactation: May pass into breast milk; use with caution.
Precautions & Warnings:
Monitor patients with hepatic impairment or arrhythmias.
Discontinue immediately if signs of hypersensitivity or severe diarrhea occur.

Storage Conditions:
Store below 30°C. After mixing, refrigerate the suspension and use it within 5 days. Keep away from children.
