Indications:
CLACIDO 100ML Syrup is indicated for:

Upper and lower respiratory tract infections (e.g., pharyngitis, bronchitis, pneumonia).

Skin and soft tissue infections caused by susceptible bacteria.
-
Otitis media (middle ear infections) in children.
-
Helicobacter pylori eradication in combination with other medications.
Pharmacology:
CLACIDO contains Clarithromycin, a macrolide antibiotic. It works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis through binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit, thereby stopping bacterial growth.
Dosage and Administration:

Dosage:

Adults and Children over 12 years: 250-500 mg twice daily, based on severity.

Children under 12 years: 7.5 mg/kg twice daily, not exceeding 500 mg per dose.

Shake the bottle well before use.
-
Use the provided measuring device for accurate dosing.

Can be taken with or without food.

Interaction:

Avoid concurrent use with drugs metabolized by CYP3A4, such as simvastatin or lovastatin, due to the risk of rhabdomyolysis.

May increase the effects of warfarin, leading to bleeding risks.
-
Concomitant use with other macrolides or ergot derivatives is not recommended.
Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to Clarithromycin or other macrolide antibiotics.

Patients with a history of QT prolongation or ventricular arrhythmias.

Severe liver or kidney impairment.
Side Effects:

Common: Diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, headache.

Rare: Hepatic dysfunction, allergic reactions, or QT prolongation.
Pregnancy & Lactation:

Pregnancy: Use only if the potential benefit justifies the risk to the fetus.

Lactation: Use with caution as Clarithromycin is excreted in breast milk.
Precautions & Warnings:

Monitor liver and kidney function during long-term therapy.

Use cautiously in patients with myasthenia gravis, as symptoms may worsen.

Avoid use in patients with known arrhythmias or electrolyte disturbances.
