Tagus 10 mg is indicated for:
Management of type 2 diabetes mellitus as monotherapy or in combination with other antidiabetic agents.
Improving glycemic control when lifestyle modifications such as diet and exercise are insufficient.
Teneligliptin is a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor. It works by increasing incretin levels (GLP-1 and GIP), which regulate blood sugar by enhancing insulin secretion and suppressing glucagon release.
Dosage:
Recommended dose is 10 mg once daily, with or without food. Adjust dosage based on patient response and clinical conditions.
Administration:
Can be taken orally at any time of the day.
Concurrent use with sulfonylureas or insulin may increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
May interact with medications like digoxin or antiretrovirals.
Hypersensitivity to Teneligliptin or any of the excipients in the formulation.
Patients with severe renal or hepatic impairment.
Common: Hypoglycemia, headache, nasopharyngitis, and gastrointestinal discomfort.
Rare: Severe allergic reactions, pancreatitis, or skin reactions.
Pregnancy: Insufficient data on use during pregnancy; use only if clearly needed and prescribed by a physician.
Lactation: Not recommended as it is unknown if Teneligliptin passes into breast milk.
Monitor blood sugar levels regularly to avoid hypo- or hyperglycemia.
Caution in patients with a history of pancreatitis or cardiovascular diseases.
