Description

রেজিস্টার্ড চিকিৎসকের পরামর্শ মোতাবেক ঔষধ সেবন করুন।

DANILO 120MG Tablet is indicated for:

  • Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure).

  • Management of chronic stable angina and variant angina (Prinzmetal's angina).

  • Controlling heart rate in certain arrhythmias, such as atrial fibrillation.

Pharmacology

Diltiazem is a calcium channel blocker that inhibits calcium ion influx during cardiac and vascular smooth muscle contraction. This leads to decreased myocardial oxygen demand, improved myocardial oxygen delivery, and reduced vascular resistance, making it effective for hypertension and angina management.

Dosage & Administration

  • Hypertension: 120-240 mg daily in divided doses, adjusted as per physician's advice.

  • Angina: 120-320 mg daily in divided doses, depending on response.

  • Administration: Take orally with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole without crushing or chewing.

Interaction

  • Drug Interactions:

    • May interact with beta-blockers, digoxin, and other antihypertensives, causing enhanced hypotensive effects.

    • Caution with CYP3A4 inhibitors or inducers, as they can affect Diltiazem metabolism.

  • Food Interactions: Grapefruit juice may increase drug levels; avoid concurrent use.

Contraindications

  • Severe hypotension (systolic BP <90 mmHg).

  • Recent myocardial infarction with pulmonary congestion.

  • Second- or third-degree AV block without a pacemaker.

Side Effects

Common side effects:

  • Dizziness, headache.

  • Fatigue, nausea.

Rare side effects:

  • Bradycardia, hypotension.

  • Peripheral edema, skin rash.

Pregnancy & Lactation

  • Pregnancy: Use only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus (Category C).

  • Lactation: Diltiazem may pass into breast milk; consult a physician before use.

Precautions & Warnings

  • Use cautiously in patients with liver or kidney impairment.

  • Monitor heart rate and blood pressure regularly during therapy.

  • Avoid abrupt discontinuation to prevent rebound angina or hypertension.

Therapeutic Class

Calcium channel blocker (non-dihydropyridine).
