Sizonil 5 MG Tablet is indicated for the treatment of schizophrenia, acute and chronic psychotic disorders, and related mental health conditions.
Sizonil contains Fluphenazine, a potent antipsychotic agent. It works by altering the effects of neurotransmitters in the brain, helping to stabilize mood and reduce psychotic symptoms.
Adult Dose: Start with 2.5-10 mg per day, divided into 2-3 doses. Adjust based on clinical response.
Maximum Dose: Should not exceed 20 mg per day.
Administer orally with or without food, preferably at the same time daily.
May interact with CNS depressants, antihypertensive medications, and alcohol, increasing sedation and risk of hypotension.
Use with caution when combined with other antipsychotic drugs.
Hypersensitivity to Fluphenazine or any of its components.
Patients with severe hepatic or renal impairment.
Common side effects include:

Extrapyramidal symptoms
Severe side effects should be reported to a physician immediately.
Use during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus.
Avoid breastfeeding while using this medication.
Monitor for signs of tardive dyskinesia during long-term therapy.
Caution in patients with a history of seizures or cardiovascular disorders.
