Indications:

Hypertension (উচ্চ রক্তচাপ)
Congestive heart failure (হৃদযন্ত্রের অকার্যকারিতা)
Secondary prevention post-myocardial infarction
Diabetic nephropathy (ডায়াবেটিসজনিত কিডনির সমস্যা)
Reduction of cardiovascular risk in high-risk patients

Pharmacology:
ACECARD 2.5 MG Tablet contains Perindopril, an ACE (Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme) inhibitor. It reduces the synthesis of angiotensin II, a potent vasoconstrictor, leading to vasodilation, reduced blood pressure, decreased aldosterone secretion, and improved cardiac output. It also offers renal protective effects, especially in diabetic patients.

Dosage:

Initial dose: 2.5 mg once daily
May be adjusted by physician based on patient’s blood pressure and condition
Maintenance dose ranges from 2.5–5 mg once daily
Maximum daily dose: 8 mg, in divided doses if needed

Administration:

Taken orally, preferably in the morning
With or without food
Should be swallowed whole with water
Regular monitoring is recommended during treatment

Interaction:

May interact with diuretics, NSAIDs, lithium, potassium supplements
Risk of hyperkalemia when used with potassium-sparing diuretics
Alcohol may enhance hypotensive effect

Contraindications:

History of angioedema with ACE inhibitors
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Severe renal impairment or bilateral renal artery stenosis
Hypersensitivity to perindopril or any ACE inhibitors

Side Effects:

Dry cough (most common)
Hypotension (especially after initial dose)
Dizziness, headache
Increased potassium levels
Rare: angioedema, kidney dysfunction

Pregnancy & Lactation:

Pregnancy: Contraindicated—may cause fetal toxicity and congenital malformations
Lactation: Not recommended unless clearly necessary under medical advice

Precautions & Warnings:
