ATRIZIN 10MG Tablet is indicated for:
-
Seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis.
-
Chronic urticaria (hives) and other allergic skin conditions.
-
Relief from symptoms like sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes, and watery eyes.
-
Allergies caused by dust, pollen, and animal dander.
Pharmacology:
ATRIZIN contains Cetirizine, a selective H1-receptor antagonist.

It inhibits histamine activity, preventing and alleviating allergic symptoms.
-
Cetirizine has a quick onset of action and provides prolonged relief with a low sedative effect compared to older antihistamines.
Dosage & Administration:

Adults and children (above 12 years): 10 mg once daily.

Children (6-12 years): 5 mg twice daily or as directed by a physician.

Can be taken with or without food.
Interaction:
-
May enhance the sedative effect of CNS depressants or alcohol.

Avoid using with other antihistamines unless prescribed.
Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to Cetirizine or hydroxyzine.

Severe renal impairment.
Side Effects:

Common: Drowsiness, dry mouth, fatigue, headache.

Rare: Gastrointestinal discomfort, rash, dizziness.
Pregnancy & Lactation:

Pregnancy: Use only if clearly needed and prescribed by a physician (Category B).

Lactation: Not recommended as it may pass into breast milk.
Precautions & Warnings:

Avoid driving or operating machinery if drowsiness occurs.

Use cautiously in patients with renal impairment or a history of seizures.
