Indications:
GENSULIN M30 is indicated for the treatment of insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (Type 1) and for patients with Type 2 diabetes who require insulin to control blood glucose.
Pharmacology:
GENSULIN M30 is a biphasic insulin formulation combining 30% short-acting soluble insulin and 70% intermediate-acting isophane insulin (NPH). It provides both rapid onset and extended blood glucose control.
Dosage:
Dosage is individualized. Commonly administered once or twice daily, 30 minutes before meals. Dose adjustments should be based on regular blood glucose monitoring and physician's guidance.
Administration:
Subcutaneous injection only. Shake gently before use to ensure uniform suspension. Use with insulin syringes calibrated for 100 IU/ml. Rotate injection sites regularly to avoid tissue damage.
Interaction:
May interact with beta-blockers, ACE inhibitors, corticosteroids, oral antidiabetics, and alcohol. These interactions can either increase or decrease the effect of insulin.
Contraindications:
Hypoglycemia, hypersensitivity to any insulin components.
Side Effects:
Most common: Hypoglycemia
Others: Allergic reactions, lipodystrophy, injection site redness, weight gain, edema.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Safe under medical supervision. Insulin requirements may change during pregnancy and lactation, so close monitoring is essential.
Precautions & Warnings:
Regular monitoring of blood glucose is essential. Dose adjustment may be necessary in case of infection, stress, surgery, or dietary changes. Avoid alcohol during therapy. Do not switch insulin types without a doctor’s advice.

Storage Conditions:
Store unopened vial in a refrigerator (2°C–8°C). Do not freeze. Once opened, it may be kept at room temperature (below 25°C) and used within 4 weeks. Keep away from heat and direct light. Do not use if the suspension appears abnormal.
