Indications:
Symbion Bexicap 6/200 mg capsule is indicated for:
Moderate urinary tract infections
Respiratory tract infections
Skin and soft tissue infections
Other bacterial infections sensitive to the combination therapy
Pharmacology:
This capsule contains:
Ofloxacin (6 mg): A fluoroquinolone antibiotic that inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, blocking bacterial replication.
Cefixime (200 mg): A third-generation cephalosporin that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis.
Together, they provide broad-spectrum antibacterial activity against various gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
Dosage:
Adults: One capsule twice daily or as prescribed by the physician
Complete full treatment course for effectiveness
Administration:
Orally with a full glass of water, preferably after meals.
Interaction:
May interact with antacids, iron supplements, sucralfate, and other drugs. Inform your doctor about all medications.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to cephalosporins or fluoroquinolones
History of tendon disorders related to fluoroquinolone use
Pregnancy and lactation (only if prescribed)
Severe renal or hepatic impairment
Side Effects:
Common: Nausea, diarrhea, headache, dizziness
Rare: Tendon rupture, allergic reactions, photosensitivity
