Indications
LACRISON is indicated for:
Relief of dry eyes due to decreased tear production
Burning or irritation caused by environmental factors
Post-operative eye dryness or discomfort
Protection against further eye irritation
Pharmacology
LACRISON contains Carboxymethylcellulose Sodium, a lubricant that mimics natural tears and forms a protective, moisturizing film over the cornea. It hydrates the eye surface, reduces dryness, and relieves irritation.
Dosage & Administration
1 to 2 drops in the affected eye(s) as needed or as directed by a physician
Wash hands before use
Avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface, including the eye
Shake well before use (if required by formulation)
Interaction
No significant drug interactions
If used with other eye medications, allow a 5-minute gap between applications
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients
Do not use if the solution changes color or becomes cloudy
Side Effects
Common: Temporary blurred vision, mild stinging, or eye redness
Rare: Eye pain, changes in vision, severe irritation (stop use and consult doctor)
Pregnancy & Lactation
Safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding, as it acts locally without systemic absorption
Precautions & Warnings
For external use only
Discontinue if irritation persists or worsens
Do not use after the expiry date or if the bottle is damaged
Use within 30 days of opening the bottle
