Indications:
Symbion Bexicap 6/100 mg capsule is indicated for:
Mild to moderate urinary tract infections
Respiratory tract infections
Skin and soft tissue infections
Other bacterial infections sensitive to the drug combination
Pharmacology:
This capsule contains a combination of two antibiotics:
Ofloxacin (6 mg): A fluoroquinolone that inhibits bacterial DNA synthesis
Cefixime (100 mg): A third-generation cephalosporin that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis
The combination offers a broad spectrum antibacterial effect against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
Dosage:
Adults: One capsule twice daily or as prescribed by the physician
Complete the full course as advised
Administration:
Orally with a full glass of water, preferably after meals.
Interaction:
May interact with antacids, sucralfate, iron supplements, and other antibiotics. Inform your doctor about all medications.
Contraindications:
Allergy to cephalosporins or fluoroquinolones
History of tendon problems related to fluoroquinolone use
Pregnancy and breastfeeding (use only if prescribed)
Severe renal or hepatic impairment
Side Effects:
Common: Nausea, diarrhea, headache, dizziness
Rare: Tendon rupture, allergic reactions, photosensitivity
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use only under medical supervision if clearly needed.
Precautions & Warnings:
Monitor for allergic reactions and tendon discomfort. Use cautiously in kidney or liver disease patients.
