Indications:
Used for treatment of infected inflammatory skin conditions such as impetigo, eczema with secondary bacterial infection, dermatitis, and other bacterial skin infections with inflammation and itching.
Pharmacology:
Mupirocin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by targeting isoleucyl-tRNA synthetase, effective against gram-positive bacteria. Hydrocortisone is a mild corticosteroid that reduces inflammation, redness, and itching.
Dosage:
Apply a thin layer to the affected area 2-3 times daily or as directed by the physician.
Administration:
For external use only. Clean and dry the affected skin before application. Wash hands before and after use.
Interaction:
Minimal systemic absorption; no significant drug interactions reported.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to mupirocin, hydrocortisone, or any component of the cream.
Side Effects:
May cause mild burning, itching, or irritation at the application site. Prolonged use may cause skin thinning.
