BUFLEX 500MG Tablet is indicated for:
-
Relief of mild to moderate pain.

Management of inflammation in conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and musculoskeletal disorders.

Reducing fever and alleviating symptoms of menstrual pain.
Pharmacology
BUFLEX contains Ibuprofen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by inhibiting the cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, thereby reducing prostaglandin synthesis, which is responsible for pain, fever, and inflammation.
Dosage and Administration

Adults and Children (12 years and above): 1 tablet 2-3 times daily.

Should be taken with food or milk to minimize gastrointestinal discomfort.

Maximum daily dose: 2400 mg (not more than 4 tablets in 24 hours).
Interaction

Increased risk of bleeding when taken with anticoagulants (e.g., warfarin).

Reduced efficacy of antihypertensive drugs (e.g., ACE inhibitors, beta-blockers).

Risk of gastrointestinal ulcers when combined with corticosteroids or alcohol.
Contraindications

Known hypersensitivity to Ibuprofen or other NSAIDs.

History of asthma or allergic reactions triggered by NSAIDs.

Active gastrointestinal bleeding or peptic ulcer disease.

Severe liver or kidney dysfunction.
Side Effects

Common: Nausea, heartburn, dizziness, and gastrointestinal discomfort.

Rare: Allergic reactions, skin rash, and renal or hepatic impairment.
Pregnancy & Lactation

Avoid during the third trimester due to the risk of premature closure of the ductus arteriosus in the fetus.

Should only be used during lactation if absolutely necessary and under a doctor’s supervision.
