Indications:
Heavy menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia)
Post-surgical bleeding
Bleeding due to dental procedures
Hereditary angioedema and other fibrinolytic bleeding disorders
Pharmacology:
Traneta contains Tranexamic Acid, which is a synthetic derivative of lysine. It works as an antifibrinolytic by reversibly blocking lysine binding sites on plasminogen, thereby preventing the breakdown of fibrin clots.
Dosage:
Menorrhagia: 1 tablet (5mg) 2–3 times daily during the first few days of menstruation.
Surgical bleeding: As prescribed by a physician.
Dosage varies based on indication and clinical condition.
Administration:
Oral use only.
Should be taken with water, preferably with or after meals.
Interaction:
May interact with hormonal contraceptives and other pro-thrombotic agents. Caution advised with anticoagulants.
Contraindications:
Active intravascular clotting
History of thrombosis or embolism
Hypersensitivity to tranexamic acid
Side Effects:
Common: Nausea, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort
Rare: Thromboembolic events, allergic reactions, visual disturbances
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed. Caution advised during lactation.
Precautions & Warnings:
Use cautiously in patients with history of thrombosis or renal impairment
Visual disturbances require discontinuation of therapy
