Indications:
Relentus 2mg is indicated for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure), angina pectoris, and certain heart rhythm disorders.
Pharmacology:
Contains nebivolol, a beta-1 selective adrenergic blocker that reduces heart rate and dilates blood vessels, thereby lowering blood pressure and decreasing cardiac workload.
Dosage:
Adults: Typically 1 tablet (2mg) once daily, with or without food. Dosage may be adjusted by the physician.
Patients with liver or kidney impairment may require dose modification.
Administration:
Take orally at the same time each day. Do not abruptly stop the medication without consulting your doctor.
Interaction:
May interact with other antihypertensives, calcium channel blockers, antiarrhythmics, and NSAIDs. Inform your physician about all medications being taken.
Contraindications:
Contraindicated in patients with severe bradycardia, heart block, cardiogenic shock, or hypersensitivity to nebivolol.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include fatigue, dizziness, headache, and cold extremities. Rarely, may cause bronchospasm or worsening heart failure.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed. Caution advised during breastfeeding.
Precautions & Warnings:
Monitor heart rate and blood pressure regularly. Use cautiously in patients with respiratory diseases or diabetes.
