Indications
LIMOGEL is indicated for:
Muscle pain and cramps
Joint pain from arthritis or overuse
Sports injuries, sprains, and strains
Soft tissue inflammation
Back pain, shoulder pain, or neck stiffness
Pharmacology
LIMOGEL typically contains Diclofenac Diethylamine, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, reducing the formation of prostaglandins which cause pain and inflammation. Being topical, it penetrates locally at the site of pain without significant systemic absorption.
Dosage & Administration
Apply a small amount (2–4g) to the affected area 3–4 times daily
Gently massage until fully absorbed
Wash hands after application unless used on hands
Do not apply on broken or irritated skin
Interaction
Minimal systemic absorption, so interactions are rare
Avoid concurrent use with other topical NSAIDs or strong skin products at the same site
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to Diclofenac or NSAIDs
Open wounds, eczema, or skin infections at the site of application
Patients with known aspirin-induced asthma or NSAID allergies
Side Effects
Common: Mild redness, itching, burning, or rash at application site
Rare: Photosensitivity, allergic dermatitis, swelling
Pregnancy & Lactation
Should be avoided during the third trimester of pregnancy
Not recommended for use while breastfeeding unless prescribed
Use with caution and under medical advice
Precautions & Warnings
For external use only
Avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes, and broken skin
Discontinue use if skin irritation occurs
Do not use with occlusive dressings unless directed by a physician
