Indications:
BEXITROL F 50/250 Bexicap is indicated for:
Maintenance therapy for moderate to severe persistent asthma.
Long-term management of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) with frequent exacerbations.
Pharmacology:
Formoterol (50 mcg): A long-acting beta-2 adrenergic agonist (LABA) that relaxes airway muscles, improving airflow and alleviating symptoms like wheezing and shortness of breath.
Fluticasone Propionate (250 mcg): A high-dose inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) that reduces airway inflammation and prevents asthma and COPD exacerbations.
Dosage and Administration:
Adults and adolescents (12 years and older): 1 capsule inhaled twice daily using a dry powder inhaler device or as prescribed by the healthcare provider.
Ensure proper inhaler technique for maximum therapeutic effect.
Rinse the mouth thoroughly after inhalation to prevent oral thrush.
Interaction:
Avoid concurrent use with systemic corticosteroids or other beta-agonists unless directed by a doctor.
May interact with beta-blockers, diuretics, antifungal, and antiviral drugs.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Formoterol, Fluticasone, or other components of the inhaler.
Not suitable for acute bronchospasm or sudden asthma symptoms.
