Indications:
EXOVATE N ointment is indicated for the treatment of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses complicated by bacterial infections, such as infected eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis.
Pharmacology:
This ointment contains Clobetasol Propionate, a potent corticosteroid that reduces inflammation, and Neomycin, an aminoglycoside antibiotic effective against Gram-negative bacteria. The combination helps control inflammation and bacterial infection simultaneously.
Dosage:
Apply a thin layer to the affected area 1-2 times daily as directed by a physician. Do not exceed recommended usage.
Administration:
For external use only. Apply gently and avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Wash hands after application unless treating the hands.
Interaction:
Avoid concomitant use with other topical corticosteroids or antibiotics unless prescribed. Prolonged use may increase risk of systemic absorption.
Contraindications:
Contraindicated in patients allergic to Clobetasol, Neomycin, or other aminoglycosides. Not recommended for viral, fungal, or tubercular skin infections.
Side Effects:
May cause skin irritation, burning, dryness, skin thinning, or allergic reactions. Prolonged use can lead to systemic corticosteroid effects.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use with caution during pregnancy and lactation. Only use if benefits outweigh risks and under medical supervision.
Precautions & Warnings:
Avoid prolonged use and occlusive dressings. Monitor for local adverse effects. Discontinue if sensitization occurs.
