Indications:
Olmesan Plus 20/12.5 mg is indicated for the treatment of hypertension in patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by olmesartan alone.

Pharmacology:
This combination includes Olmesartan Medoxomil, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), and Hydrochlorothiazide, a thiazide diuretic. Olmesartan blocks the vasoconstrictor effects of angiotensin II, while hydrochlorothiazide promotes sodium and water excretion, reducing blood volume and pressure.

Dosage:
The usual dose is one tablet daily. Dosage adjustments may be made by the physician depending on the patient’s response.

Administration:
Should be taken once daily, preferably at the same time each day, with or without food.

Interaction:
May interact with potassium supplements, NSAIDs, lithium, and other antihypertensives. Concomitant use with alcohol may enhance hypotensive effects.

Contraindications:
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any of the components, anuria, or severe renal impairment. Also contraindicated during pregnancy.

Side Effects:
Possible side effects include dizziness, headache, fatigue, electrolyte imbalance, increased urination, and low blood pressure. Rarely, allergic reactions or kidney issues may occur.

Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use during pregnancy is contraindicated due to risk to the fetus. Caution is advised during lactation; medical consultation is recommended.

Precautions & Warnings:
Monitor electrolytes, renal function, and blood pressure regularly. Use with caution in patients with liver or kidney impairment, diabetes, or gout.
