Indications:
For treatment of infected inflammatory skin conditions like impetigo, eczema with secondary bacterial infection, dermatitis, and other bacterial skin infections accompanied by inflammation and itching.
Pharmacology:
Mupirocin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by targeting isoleucyl-tRNA synthetase, effective mainly against gram-positive bacteria. Hydrocortisone is a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation, redness, and itching.
Dosage:
Apply a thin layer to the affected area 2-3 times daily or as directed by physician.
Administration:
External use only. Clean and dry the skin before applying. Avoid contact with eyes. Wash hands before and after use.
Interaction:
No significant drug interactions reported.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to mupirocin, hydrocortisone, or any cream components.
Side Effects:
May cause mild irritation, burning, or itching. Prolonged use can cause skin thinning.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use only if clearly necessary and prescribed by a doctor.
Precautions & Warnings:
Avoid prolonged use and application on large skin areas. Not for fungal or viral infections.
