Indications:
DEXTRIM Syrup is indicated for the treatment of productive cough, chest congestion, bronchitis, asthma-related cough, and other respiratory conditions associated with excessive mucus and bronchial spasm.

Pharmacology:
DEXTRIM combines several active ingredients:

Terbutaline Sulphate: A β2-agonist that relaxes bronchial muscles and eases breathing.
Guaifenesin: An expectorant that reduces mucus viscosity, helping in mucus expulsion.
Bromhexine Hydrochloride: A mucolytic agent that breaks down thick mucus.
Menthol: Provides a cooling sensation and reduces throat irritation.

Together, they relieve cough and promote clear airways.

Dosage:

Adults & Children over 12 years: 10 ml 2–3 times daily
Children (6–12 years): 5 ml 2–3 times daily
Children (2–6 years): 2.5 ml 2–3 times daily
Or as directed by a physician.

Administration:
To be taken orally. Shake well before use. Dosing should be measured with a proper measuring cup/spoon.

Interaction:
May interact with beta-blockers, diuretics, and monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs). Concurrent use with other sympathomimetic drugs should be avoided.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to any of the components
Patients with severe hypertension, cardiac arrhythmia, or hyperthyroidism
Not recommended in children under 2 years unless prescribed

Side Effects:
Mild side effects may include tremors, nervousness, headache, nausea, dizziness, or palpitations. Rarely, allergic reactions or gastrointestinal upset may occur.

Pregnancy & Lactation:
Should be used with caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Only use if clearly necessary and prescribed.

Precautions & Warnings:

Avoid use in patients with known cardiovascular disorders without medical supervision
Overdose may cause tachycardia or CNS stimulation
Not suitable for dry or chronic cough without mucus

Storage Conditions:
Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place. Protect from light. Keep out of reach of children. Do not freeze. Use within 30 days of opening.
