Indications:
DIAPRO MR 60MG is indicated for managing type 2 diabetes mellitus to improve glycemic control, either alone or with other antidiabetic agents.
Pharmacology:
This medicine contains Metformin hydrochloride in a modified-release form. Metformin decreases hepatic glucose production, reduces intestinal absorption of glucose, and improves insulin sensitivity, enhancing peripheral glucose uptake.
Dosage:

Adults: Usually 1 tablet once or twice daily with meals, dose adjusted by physician based on response.

Adjust dosage in patients with renal impairment.
Administration:
Take orally with meals to reduce gastrointestinal side effects. Tablets should be swallowed whole without crushing or chewing.
Interaction:
May interact with iodinated contrast agents, cationic drugs, and other antidiabetic medications. Monitor for lactic acidosis risk.
Contraindications:

Severe renal impairment or metabolic acidosis.

Hypersensitivity to Metformin.

Conditions causing hypoxia or dehydration.
Side Effects:
Commonly causes gastrointestinal issues like nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal discomfort. Rarely, lactic acidosis may occur.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use only if clearly necessary during pregnancy. Consult physician before breastfeeding.
Precautions & Warnings:
