Indications:
Opton 40mg is indicated for the treatment of severe hypertension and other cardiovascular conditions requiring intensive blood pressure management.
Pharmacology:
Opton contains Amlodipine, a long-acting calcium channel blocker that inhibits calcium ion influx into vascular smooth muscle, leading to vasodilation and reduced blood pressure.
Dosage:
Typically 40mg once daily, or as directed by a registered physician. Dosage depends on the patient's condition and therapeutic response.
Administration:
Take orally with or without food, ideally at the same time each day. Do not crush or chew the tablet.
Interaction:
May interact with beta-blockers, diuretics, antifungal drugs, and grapefruit juice. Always inform your physician about all ongoing medications.
Contraindications:
Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Amlodipine or other dihydropyridine derivatives. Use cautiously in liver impairment.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include dizziness, ankle swelling, headache, flushing, and fatigue. Rarely, may cause palpitations or low blood pressure.
