Indications:
Recur 1mg is indicated for treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and erosive esophagitis.
Pharmacology:
Contains rabeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor that blocks the enzyme responsible for acid secretion in stomach lining, thereby reducing acid production and promoting ulcer healing.
Dosage:
Adults: 1mg once daily or as prescribed by the physician.
Dose adjustment may be necessary for liver impairment.
Administration:
Take orally before meals, preferably in the morning. Swallow the tablet whole with water. Avoid crushing or chewing.
Interaction:
May interact with drugs like ketoconazole, atazanavir, digoxin, and warfarin. Inform your doctor about all medications being taken.
Contraindications:
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to rabeprazole or other proton pump inhibitors.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include headache, nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and dizziness. Rarely, allergic reactions may occur.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Caution advised during breastfeeding.
Precautions & Warnings:
Long-term use may cause vitamin B12 deficiency or magnesium imbalance. Monitor patients accordingly. Avoid abrupt discontinuation.
