CIBRATE 100MG is indicated for:
Treatment of primary hyperlipidemia and mixed dyslipidemia.
Prevention of cardiovascular diseases by reducing lipid levels.
Pharmacology
Ciprofibrate is a fibrate derivative that activates peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors (PPARs). This action reduces the production of triglycerides and increases HDL cholesterol levels, improving lipid profile.
Dosage and Administration
Usual dose: 100 mg once daily.
Take after a meal for better absorption.
Dosage adjustment may be required for patients with renal impairment.
Interaction
Increased risk of myopathy when used with statins (e.g., simvastatin).
Potentiates the effects of anticoagulants (e.g., warfarin); monitor INR levels.
Avoid concurrent use with other fibrates or bile acid sequestrants.
Contraindications
Severe renal or hepatic dysfunction.
Gallbladder disease.
Hypersensitivity to Ciprofibrate or any component of the formulation.
Side Effects
Common: Nausea, abdominal discomfort, diarrhea, and headache.
Rare: Myopathy, rhabdomyolysis, or liver enzyme elevation.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Not recommended during pregnancy unless essential.
Use with caution in breastfeeding women, as it may pass into breast milk.
