Indications:
TURBOCLAV 500MG is indicated for the treatment of respiratory tract infections (bronchitis, pneumonia), urinary tract infections, ENT infections (sinusitis, otitis media), skin and soft tissue infections, and gynecological infections caused by susceptible bacteria.

Pharmacology:
This formulation contains Amoxicillin, a penicillin-class antibiotic that kills bacteria by inhibiting cell wall synthesis, and Clavulanic Acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor that prevents the degradation of amoxicillin by resistant bacteria. Together, they extend the antibiotic spectrum of activity.

Dosage & Administration:
Adults and children over 12 years: One tablet (500mg/125mg) every 8 hours or as prescribed. The medicine should be taken with meals to improve absorption and minimize gastrointestinal discomfort.

Interaction:
TURBOCLAV may interact with oral anticoagulants (e.g., warfarin), leading to increased bleeding risk. It can also interact with methotrexate, allopurinol, and oral contraceptives, reducing their effectiveness or increasing side effects.

Contraindications:
Contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity to penicillins, cephalosporins, or any components of the product. Also not recommended for patients with a history of cholestatic jaundice or hepatic dysfunction associated with this combination.

Side Effects:
Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and skin rash. Rare but serious effects may include liver dysfunction, hypersensitivity reactions, and antibiotic-associated colitis.

Pregnancy & Lactation:
This combination can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding only if clearly needed and prescribed by a physician. It is generally considered safe, but caution is advised.

Precautions & Warnings:
Caution should be taken in patients with liver or kidney impairment. Liver function should be monitored during prolonged use. Discontinue immediately if allergic reactions occur.
