Indications:
Allergic conjunctivitis
Seasonal allergic eye symptoms like itching, tearing, and redness
Pharmacology:
Tofen contains Ketotifen, a non-competitive histamine antagonist and mast cell stabilizer, which inhibits the release of allergy-causing substances in the eye.
Dosage:
Usually 1 drop in the affected eye(s) twice daily or as directed by a physician.
Administration:
For ophthalmic use only.
Instill into the lower conjunctival sac and avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface.
Shake well before use if suspension.
Interaction:
No significant systemic drug interactions. However, inform your doctor if using other eye medications.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Ketotifen or any component of the formulation.
Do not use while wearing contact lenses.
Side Effects:
Common: Eye irritation, burning or stinging sensation
Rare: Eye dryness, blurred vision temporarily
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use only if clearly needed and prescribed by a physician.
Precautions & Warnings:
Avoid contamination of the dropper. If symptoms persist or worsen, seek medical attention.
