Indications:
GENSULIN M 30/70 is indicated for the treatment of patients with diabetes mellitus who require insulin to control blood glucose levels.
Pharmacology:
GENSULIN M 30/70 is a biphasic insulin composed of 30% short-acting (regular) insulin and 70% intermediate-acting (NPH) insulin. The short-acting component works quickly to reduce blood sugar spikes, while the intermediate component provides longer duration control.
Dosage:
Dosage is individualized based on patient needs, blood glucose monitoring, and physician assessment. Typically administered once or twice daily before meals.
Administration:
Subcutaneous injection only. The cartridge is used with an appropriate insulin delivery pen. Rotate injection sites regularly to avoid lipodystrophy.
Interaction:
May interact with beta-blockers, diuretics, corticosteroids, and oral hypoglycemics. Alcohol may enhance or reduce insulin's blood sugar-lowering effects.
Contraindications:
