Indications:
Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
Peptic ulcer disease
Zollinger-Ellison syndrome
Gastric and duodenal ulcers
Erosive esophagitis
Pharmacology:
Rabeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that suppresses gastric acid secretion by irreversibly inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme in the stomach lining, leading to reduced acid production and healing of ulcers and esophagitis.
Dosage & Administration:
Typically, 20 mg once daily before meals or as prescribed by the physician. Swallow the tablet whole without crushing or chewing.
Interaction:
May interact with:
Drugs metabolized by CYP450 enzymes
Warfarin, digoxin, ketoconazole, and atazanavir
Antacids (may reduce absorption)
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Rabeprazole or other PPIs
Known severe liver impairment

Vitamin B12 deficiency with long-term use
