Indications:
TYCLAV 625MG is used for treatment of respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and other bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms.
Pharmacology:
This medication combines amoxicillin, a beta-lactam antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, and clavulanic acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor that protects amoxicillin from degradation by resistant bacteria, extending its antibacterial spectrum.
Dosage & Administration:
Adults: One 625 mg capsule every 8 to 12 hours or as directed by a physician.
Take with food to reduce stomach upset.
Interaction:
May interact with anticoagulants, methotrexate, oral contraceptives, and other medications. Always inform your healthcare provider about all medicines you take.
Contraindications:
Not for use in patients allergic to penicillin, cephalosporins, or clavulanic acid.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, skin rash, and rarely allergic reactions.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use only if clearly necessary and prescribed by a doctor.
Precautions & Warnings:
