Indications:
Rostil Plus is indicated for treatment of upper and lower respiratory tract infections such as bronchitis, pharyngitis, and sinusitis where mucus congestion is also present. It combines antibacterial and mucolytic action.
Pharmacology:

Roxithromycin: A macrolide antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit.

Ambroxol: A mucolytic agent that thins and loosens mucus in the airways, making it easier to cough out and improving breathing.
Dosage:

Adults: 1 dosage unit (as prescribed, typically 135mg Roxithromycin + 3.5gm Ambroxol) twice daily.

Dosage must be individualized depending on severity of infection and clinical response.
Administration:
Take orally with water, preferably after meals. Do not skip doses and complete the full course.
Interaction:
Roxithromycin may interact with warfarin, cyclosporine, and theophylline. Ambroxol may enhance antibiotic penetration in bronchial secretions.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to either Roxithromycin, Ambroxol, or other macrolide antibiotics.
Side Effects:
Common: Nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, dry mouth, dizziness.
Rare: Allergic reactions, hepatic dysfunction.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Consult doctor if breastfeeding.
Precautions & Warnings:
Use with caution in patients with severe liver or kidney impairment. Monitor for allergic reactions and gastrointestinal disturbances.
