Indications:
BACTROBEX 10 GM Ointment is indicated for the treatment of bacterial skin infections, including impetigo, folliculitis, and infected small cuts, wounds, or abrasions.
Pharmacology:
BACTROBEX contains Mupirocin, a topical antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to bacterial isoleucyl-tRNA synthetase. This action is bacteriostatic at low concentrations and bactericidal at high concentrations.
Dosage and Administration:

Apply a small amount of ointment to the affected area 2-3 times daily or as directed by a physician.

The area may be covered with a sterile bandage if necessary.

Avoid contact with eyes, nose, or mouth.
Interaction:

Minimal systemic absorption reduces interaction risk. However, concurrent use of other topical products on the same area should be avoided without physician advice.
Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to Mupirocin or any component of the ointment.

Not suitable for severe burns or extensive open wounds.
Side Effects:

Common: Itching, redness, or a mild burning sensation at the application site.

Rare: Allergic reactions such as rash or swelling.

Can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding if clearly needed and prescribed by a healthcare provider.
