Indications:
BEXITROL F 50/100 Bexicap is indicated for:
Maintenance therapy in asthma, especially in moderate cases.
Long-term treatment of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) with frequent symptoms.
Pharmacology:
Formoterol (50 mcg): A long-acting beta-2 adrenergic agonist (LABA) that relaxes bronchial muscles, providing relief from symptoms like wheezing and shortness of breath.
Fluticasone Propionate (100 mcg): An inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) that reduces airway inflammation and prevents asthma attacks and COPD exacerbations.
Dosage and Administration:
Adults and adolescents (12 years and older): 1 capsule inhaled twice daily using a dry powder inhaler device or as prescribed by the physician.
Ensure proper inhalation technique to maximize effectiveness.
Rinse mouth thoroughly after inhalation to minimize the risk of oral thrush.
Interaction:
Caution when used with systemic corticosteroids or other beta-agonists.
May interact with beta-blockers, diuretics, and antifungal medications.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Formoterol, Fluticasone, or other ingredients in the inhaler.
