Indications:
Indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe pain, including post-operative pain, musculoskeletal pain, and other conditions where combined analgesic therapy is appropriate.
Pharmacology:
NAPADOL contains Tramadol, a centrally acting opioid analgesic, and Paracetamol, a non-opioid analgesic. Together, they provide synergistic pain relief by acting on both central and peripheral pain pathways.
Dosage:
Adults and adolescents over 12 years: 1-2 tablets every 4-6 hours as needed. Maximum 8 tablets per day. Dose should be adjusted based on patient's condition and tolerance.
Administration:
To be taken orally, with or without food. Swallow whole with water. Do not crush or chew.
Interaction:
May interact with CNS depressants, MAO inhibitors, SSRIs, and alcohol. Concomitant use with other serotonergic drugs increases risk of serotonin syndrome.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Tramadol, Paracetamol, or any components. Acute intoxication with alcohol, hypnotics, narcotics, or psychotropic drugs. Severe respiratory depression or liver dysfunction.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include dizziness, nausea, drowsiness, constipation, and dry mouth. Serious but rare effects include respiratory depression, liver damage, and allergic reactions.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Not recommended during pregnancy, especially in the third trimester. Tramadol is excreted in breast milk; avoid use during lactation unless prescribed.
Precautions & Warnings:
Use with caution in patients with a history of drug abuse or dependence, hepatic or renal impairment, and in elderly patients. Prolonged use may lead to dependence.
