AZMASOL HFA Inhaler is indicated for:
Management of acute episodes of bronchospasm in patients with asthma.
Long-term treatment of reversible airway obstruction in COPD patients.
Prevention of exercise-induced bronchospasm.
Pharmacology:
AZMASOL contains Salbutamol, a selective beta-2 adrenergic receptor agonist.
It relaxes bronchial smooth muscles, leading to dilation of the airways.
Provides rapid relief within minutes, with effects lasting up to 4–6 hours.
Dosage & Administration:
Adults and Children (above 4 years): 1-2 puffs as needed, not exceeding 8 puffs in 24 hours.
Instructions for Use:
Shake the inhaler well before use.
Exhale fully, place the mouthpiece in the mouth, and press down the inhaler while inhaling deeply.
Hold your breath for a few seconds, then exhale slowly.
Interaction:
Avoid use with beta-blockers (e.g., propranolol) unless absolutely necessary.
Use cautiously with other sympathomimetics or diuretics, as it may increase the risk of hypokalemia.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Salbutamol or other components of the inhaler.
Severe cardiac disorders.
Side Effects:
Common: Tremor, palpitations, headache, dry mouth, throat irritation.
Rare: Paradoxical bronchospasm, arrhythmias, or allergic reactions.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Pregnancy: Use only if the potential benefit justifies the risk (Category C).
Lactation: Salbutamol is excreted in breast milk; caution is advised.
Precautions & Warnings:
Do not exceed the recommended dose to avoid side effects.
Consult a doctor if symptoms persist or worsen.
Patients with cardiovascular diseases or hyperthyroidism should use cautiously.
